Why Polar
Building, shipping, and scaling software has never been easier — but monetizing it has never been harder.
Polar is building the platform that empowers the next generation of one-developer unicorns — creators who scale billion-dollar businesses without billion-dollar teams. Our mission: turn any software product into an international business in six lines of code.
We’re a small, high-velocity, engineering-led team distributed across Europe. We move fast, stay close to our developer community, and build tools that remove every barrier between code and revenue.
The Role
We’re hiring a Community Manager to build and nurture a world-class developer community around Polar. You’ll own our community spaces, create programs that inspire engagement, and make every developer feel like part of something meaningful.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Developer Relations to ensure that Polar’s community is vibrant, inclusive, and high-signal — the go-to place for developers to learn, connect, and grow with Polar.
What You’ll Do
• Own and grow our community spaces (Discord, GitHub, forums) — ensuring they’re active, inclusive, and high-value.
• Welcome new members, answer questions, and connect developers with the right resources.
• Run engaging community programs: AMAs, office hours, hackathons, and contributor spotlights.
• Collect and organize community feedback to inform product decisions.
• Write newsletters, blog posts, and community updates that showcase builders using Polar.
• Support open source contributors — improve onboarding, documentation, and recognition.
• Build a Community Rewards Program celebrating contributors and advocates.
• Collaborate on campaigns, events, and storytelling with the DevRel and marketing teams.
• Experiment with creative ways to drive engagement, learning, and collaboration.
What You’ll Bring
• 3+ years in community management, developer advocacy, or startup ecosystems.
• Exceptional communicator who can inspire trust and connection across diverse audiences.
• Organized and proactive — comfortable running multiple community programs at once.
• Deep passion for open source, developer tools, and empowering builders.
• Track record of launching and scaling community programs successfully.
Bonus:
• You’ve built side projects or contributed to open source yourself.
• Experience in education, creator ecosystems, or developer education programs.
