We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join as a founding member of our Data & Analytics team. You’ll architect, build, and scale the data infrastructure that powers insights and decision-making across SKIMS. This is a high-impact role with ownership across data pipelines, analytics platforms, and business intelligence systems supporting every corner of the organization.

Role Overview
As a Data Engineer, you’ll design and maintain scalable data systems that transform raw information into business insights. You’ll collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver clean, reliable, and actionable data.
You’ll also take a lead role in shaping the company’s data culture and tooling ecosystem, laying the groundwork for automation, advanced analytics, and real-time reporting.

Key Responsibilities
• Architect, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines using tools such as Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, and AWS services.
• Assemble and manage large, complex datasets to meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Maintain and enhance data quality frameworks using dbt tests and Monte Carlo to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Create and maintain data documentation, workflows, and standards to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
• Support incident management and on-call rotations to maintain uptime across data systems.
• Design and build data models and dashboards for analytics and executive reporting using tools like Looker (preferred), Tableau, or PowerBI.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
• 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering, ideally within a direct-to-consumer or retail environment.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, pipeline development, and automation.
• Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and managing large-scale datasets.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (Looker preferred).
• Deep understanding of data architecture, APIs, and cloud data ecosystems (AWS, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable, technical solutions.
• Proactive problem-solver with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
• Bonus: Experience with dbt tests, Monte Carlo, and Airflow orchestration.

$160,000 – $185,000 / year
