We’re looking for a Design Assistant, Footwear & Accessories to join our growing Design team. This role is perfect for a highly organized, detail-oriented designer eager to contribute to the creative development of SKIMS’ footwear and accessory collections.

Role Overview

As a Design Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the design process from concept to production. You’ll assist with research, sketching, sample organization, and communication with cross-functional teams to bring products to life.

You’ll work alongside industry leaders and gain hands-on experience in developing high-quality, innovative designs that reflect SKIMS’ modern aesthetic and brand values.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct trend and market research for footwear and accessories, compiling seasonal inspiration and references.

• Support the design team in creating sketches, technical flats, and presentation boards for seasonal collections.

• Prepare and maintain tech packs, spec sheets, and color/material standards for all styles.

• Organize, label, and track samples, swatches, and prototypes throughout the design and development process.

• Assist in fittings, meetings, and sample reviews, taking detailed notes and following up on next steps.

• Collaborate with Product Development and Merchandising to ensure timely communication and alignment across teams.

• Maintain design libraries, archives, and digital systems to support workflow and future reference.

• Help prepare materials and visuals for seasonal presentations and internal reviews.

• Uphold SKIMS’ brand standards across all creative touchpoints, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or related field.

• 1–2 years of internship or professional experience in design (preferably footwear and/or accessories).

• Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; experience with CLO3D or similar tools is a plus.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills.

• Excellent communication and time management abilities; comfortable juggling multiple priorities.

• Passion for fashion, design, and innovation with a keen understanding of the SKIMS aesthetic.

• Collaborative, proactive, and eager to grow in a fast-paced creative environment.

$70,000 – $75,000 / year

(Dependent on experience and qualifications.)
