The Role

We’re looking for a Senior or Staff Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain the scalable systems that power our fast-growing platform. You’ll join a small, world-class team that values autonomy, creativity, and meaningful impact. Your work will directly shape the core product experience and enable millions of people to access top experts seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop robust backend services and APIs that scale globally.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams to ship new features.

• Optimize system performance, reliability, and efficiency.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

• Review code, mentor engineers, and uphold engineering excellence.

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, scalability issues, and technical debt.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.

• Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python, or Java.

• Expertise in RESTful API design and development.

• Experience building e-commerce or payment systems.

• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps workflows.

• Passion for performance, scalability, and great user experiences.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
