We’re looking for a Product Development & Production Manager to lead these fast-growing categories from concept to delivery, ensuring world-class quality, innovation, and execution.

Position Overview

The Product Development & Production Manager, Footwear & Accessories will oversee the full product lifecycle—from initial design concepts through bulk production.

You’ll collaborate closely with Design, Merchandising, and Technical teams to ensure each product reflects SKIMS’ signature quality while meeting business, margin, and timing goals.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development Leadership

• Manage the end-to-end development process for all footwear and accessories collections, ensuring seasonal milestones are met.

• Translate design concepts into manufacturable product, balancing creativity with technical and financial feasibility.

• Oversee prototype, sampling, and fitting processes, maintaining precision in materials, construction, and fit.

• Partner with Design and Merchandising to align creative intent with cost, quality, and functionality.

Vendor & Sourcing Management

• Build and manage relationships with domestic and international vendors, ensuring adherence to SKIMS’ standards of innovation, quality, and sustainability.

• Lead costing, negotiation, and margin tracking through all phases of development.

• Oversee materials sourcing, testing, and approvals, partnering with the Materials team to ensure consistency and performance.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production or quality issues, implementing proactive solutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Design, Technical Design, Planning, and Production to align timelines, specs, and execution.

• Maintain accurate documentation across PLM, BOMs, line sheets, and cost sheets.

• Lead milestone meetings and sample reviews, driving accountability and clarity across all teams.

Operational & Process Management

• Maintain seasonal development trackers, cost sheets, and vendor WIPs.

• Partner with Production to ensure seamless handoff to bulk manufacturing.

• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

• Manage and mentor the PD Assistant, fostering accuracy and professional growth.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Fashion Design, or a related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in footwear and/or accessories, ideally within fashion or lifestyle brands.

• Deep knowledge of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes for both categories.

• Proven ability to manage multiple timelines and vendors simultaneously.

• Strong communication, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and project management discipline.

$90,000 – $110,000 / year

(Dependent on experience and qualifications.)
