Role Overview
The Quality Assurance & Regulatory Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of all hydration products across the company. You’ll design, implement, and manage quality systems; oversee product testing and manufacturing QA; and ensure regulatory compliance from raw materials through finished goods.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance (QA)
• Develop and implement company-wide food safety and quality programs (HACCP, GMP, SOPs).
• Establish quality specifications for raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
• Audit and qualify manufacturing partners, co-packers, and suppliers to ensure compliance.
• Maintain QA documentation, records, and certifications.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality issues.
Quality Control (QC)
• Attend production runs to ensure products meet control standards in taste, texture, and appearance.
• Oversee incoming ingredient verification (COAs, identity checks, spec testing).
• Conduct and coordinate in-process and finished product testing (pH, Brix, electrolytes, microbiological safety, sensory evaluation).
• Ensure proper batch records, lot traceability, and product release approvals.
• Partner with production to monitor sanitation, calibration, and process controls.
Regulatory Affairs
• Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and FTC labeling regulations (ingredients, nutrition panels, claims).
• Stay current on food and beverage regulations in U.S. and international markets.
• Review and approve product artwork, packaging, and marketing claims.
• Manage certifications (NSF, Non-GMO, Organic, etc.) as applicable.
• Serve as the primary contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, food science, or regulatory affairs within the food, beverage, or nutrition industries.
• Strong knowledge of FDA food regulations, HACCP, GMP, FSMA, and labeling requirements.
• Hands-on experience with QC testing (microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory).
• Proven ability to design and manage quality management systems (QMS).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills — detail-oriented and compliance-driven.
• Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
