About the Role

As Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a world-class team spanning iOS, Android, and backend — shaping the architecture, systems, and culture behind Backbone’s growing gaming platform. You’ll partner closely with the executive team to scale technical strategy, drive cross-platform innovation, and deliver immersive products for millions of players worldwide.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering organization across iOS, Android, and backend.

• Build scalable, high-quality products across mobile, TV, and browser platforms.

• Drive engineering processes — agile development, testing, CI/CD, and release management.

• Collaborate with leadership on technical strategy, resource allocation, and roadmap execution.

• Champion AI-driven innovation across product and developer workflows.

• Define and report on engineering metrics (velocity, quality, reliability, team health).

• Foster a culture of mentorship, inclusion, and technical excellence.

• Manage budgets, tooling, and vendor partnerships with precision.

• Act as senior technical advisor in executive discussions, balancing speed with scalability.

• Maintain security, privacy, and reliability standards across all platforms.

What You’ll Bring

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in management.

• Strong background in consumer-facing mobile and backend systems.

• Experience leading cross-platform development (mobile, web, TV, cloud).

• Deep understanding of modern SDLC, agile workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Exceptional communication skills — able to bridge technical and executive audiences.

• High ownership mindset; thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings.

• Passion for gaming and user-first digital experiences.

Bonus:

• Experience scaling startup engineering orgs.

• Familiarity with gaming or streaming products.
