The Role

We’re scaling fast, and our front-end architecture needs to scale with us. Circle is hiring a Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team — taking ownership of our front-end stack and ensuring it’s modern, fast, and built to last.

You’ll lead initiatives to upgrade React, improve performance, build internal tools, and create systems that empower Circle’s product teams to move faster while maintaining best-in-class UX quality.

What You’ll Do

Maintain and modernize Circle’s front-end stack — leading React upgrades and improving performance.
Build internal component libraries, SDKs, and tooling to streamline developer workflows.
Partner with backend and SRE teams to optimize performance, reliability, and observability.
Reduce third-party dependency costs by building scalable in-house front-end systems.
Drive architectural decisions that improve speed, usability, and long-term maintainability.
Act as a key contributor in shaping the evolution of Circle’s front-end ecosystem.

What You’ll Bring

5+ years of front-end engineering experience, ideally owning large-scale React codebases.

Deep expertise in JavaScript and React, with architectural-level understanding.

Proven track record of optimizing performance and reliability in production applications.

Strong communication skills and comfort working asynchronously in a global remote team.

Fluent in English (CEFR C2 / ILR 5).

Bonus:
Built internal component libraries or design systems.
Experience with SSR, code-splitting, and performance tuning at scale.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 $130,000 – $140,000 USD + equity
