The Role

Circle’s Payments team powers the monetization engine behind thousands of creator-led communities. We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to help scale this foundation — from integrating new payment providers and checkout flows to building high-converting paywalls, subscriptions, and affiliate tools.

You’ll own projects end-to-end: designing systems, coding across the stack, integrating APIs, and shipping elegant, reliable experiences that enable creators to grow their businesses globally.

This is a high-impact, product-driven role for an engineer who thrives on autonomy, precision, and scale.

What You’ll Do

• Ship features across Ruby on Rails (backend) and React (frontend) with speed and reliability.

• Lead architectural and product decisions for Circle’s core monetization systems.

• Integrate and scale payment solutions — Stripe, PayPal, in-app, and more — across currencies and business models.

• Build and refine paywalls, upsells, and subscription flows to maximize conversion and retention.

• Collaborate with product, design, and leadership through all phases of development.

• Optimize for performance, UX, and maintainability — always balancing speed with quality.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years building complex, full-stack web applications.

• Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, TypeScript, MySQL/PostgreSQL, TailwindCSS.

• Hands-on experience with payment integrations and production billing systems.

• Deep understanding of checkout flows, subscription logic, and monetization mechanics.

• Strong product intuition — you think about how every line of code impacts the user.

• Fluent in English (CEFR C2 / ILR 5).

• Experience working independently in a remote, async-first environment.

• Bonus:

• Experience with advanced Stripe APIs (Connect, Subscriptions, Invoicing).

• Background in creator tools, SaaS, or marketplace products.

• Proven record shipping pixel-perfect interfaces.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 $130,000 – $140,000 USD + equity
