The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Growth Engineer to drive how developers discover, adopt, and succeed with Polar. You’ll operate at the intersection of engineering, data, and product — building growth loops, running experiments, and optimizing the full developer journey from onboarding to retention.

This is a hands-on, high-leverage role for someone who moves fast, thinks in systems, and loves to ship measurable impact.

What You’ll Do
• Design and ship growth-focused features: onboarding flows, referral systems, pricing tests, dashboards, campaigns, and more.
• Build and evolve our growth data stack (warehouse, dashboards, and self-serve analytics).
• Run rapid A/B and funnel experiments across web, product, and docs.
• Improve developer onboarding: SDK integrations, docs, and sample apps.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to design viral and retention loops.
• Analyze user behavior and maintain a ranked backlog of growth opportunities.
• Prioritize impact over complexity — if something moves the needle, it’s your focus.

What You’ll Bring
• 7+ years in growth, product, or full-stack engineering, ideally in fast-moving SaaS environments.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and at least one backend language (Python preferred).
• Deep experience with analytics pipelines and tools (Segment, PostHog, Amplitude, dbt, or equivalent).
• Proven record of experiments that drove activation, retention, or revenue.
• Strong product intuition and bias toward bold, creative bets — not just small optimizations.
• Comfortable working independently across frontend, backend, and data.
• Thrive in high-autonomy, high-velocity startup environments.
