The Role

As Circle grows, our infrastructure must scale seamlessly. We’re hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen our platform’s performance, reliability, and security.

This role is pivotal to ensuring Circle stays fast, stable, and resilient as we serve millions of users globally. You’ll take ownership of systems uptime, lead incident response, optimize infrastructure, and drive improvements that make Circle’s platform robust at scale.

This position is open to candidates based in the Americas (AMER) for timezone alignment.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the first responder for incidents, ensuring Circle’s uptime and reliability.

• Manage and evolve monitoring, alerting, and log management systems.

• Oversee and optimize database infrastructure (MySQL, Postgres, ClickHouse, Redis).

• Maintain and improve our server and deployment pipelines.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable, fault-tolerant systems.

• Automate and improve SRE tooling for speed, consistency, and resilience.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.

• Deep expertise in AWS and Kubernetes.

• Strong experience managing incidents and production outages.

• Proven skills in database operations, performance tuning, and monitoring systems.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in async remote environments.

• Fluent in English (CEFR C2 / ILR 5).

• Must be based in North or South America.

• Bonus:

• Experience with SOC2 compliance or secure infrastructure.

• Scaled early-stage platforms to 1M+ MAUs.

• Hands-on with ClickHouse or similar analytics databases.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 $130,000 – $140,000 USD + equity
