We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing technology team and help build the next generation of SKIMS’ digital commerce and customer experience platforms.

Position Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will play a hands-on role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems and integrations that power SKIMS’ e-commerce ecosystem.

You’ll collaborate closely with product, DevOps, and cross-functional engineering teams to build robust microservices, optimize APIs, and drive technical excellence across the full software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Development

• Lead backend development of SKIMS’ core e-commerce platform and integrations.

• Design and build microservices on AWS infrastructure to support scalability and performance.

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that adhere to OAuth and security best practices.

• Implement serverless AWS Lambda functions and enhance the local development environment (LocalStack).

• Write clean, maintainable, and test-driven code with a focus on reusability and performance.

Technical Leadership

• Partner with product and DevOps teams to design, deploy, and scale production applications.

• Drive continuous improvement in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring automation, testing, and reliability.

• Conduct code reviews (PRs) and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality.

• Contribute to architectural decisions and roadmap execution across technology initiatives.

Quality & Testing

• Design and implement automated regression and integration testing frameworks.

• Improve test coverage and reliability through TDD (Test-Driven Development).

• Participate in PagerDuty On-Call rotations, ensuring platform stability and responsiveness.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• 3+ years experience designing and building backend systems using Python 3, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF).

• 2+ years experience building and deploying large-scale applications on AWS infrastructure.

• Strong experience designing secure RESTful APIs at scale.

• Deep understanding of web security, OAuth, JWT, and modern authentication standards.

• Proficiency with Swagger or similar API documentation tools.

• Familiarity with serverless architectures and AWS Lambda.

• Experience with TDD and continuous integration best practices.

• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and pride in software craftsmanship.

Bonus Points For:

• E-commerce or consumer product experience.

• Experience contributing to architectural roadmaps in high-growth environments.

$185,000 – $202,000 / year

(Dependent on experience and technical expertise.)
