We’re seeking a Senior Technical Designer, Innovation & Collaboration to lead the technical development of our most creative and high-profile projects—bringing design vision to life through precision, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Position Overview

As the Senior Technical Designer, you’ll own the technical execution of complex garments and exclusive collaborations. From conceptual development to final production, you’ll ensure flawless fit, construction, and quality that align with SKIMS’ elevated design standards.

You’ll partner cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, and Innovation teams to push technical boundaries and deliver industry-leading products that merge creativity and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design Leadership

• Lead all technical development for Innovation & Collaboration collections, focusing on premium construction and advanced garment engineering.

• Oversee tech pack creation, ensuring detailed specs, measurements, and construction methods are accurate and complete.

• Conduct and lead fit sessions, analyzing prototypes and production samples for consistency and quality.

• Collaborate with Design and Product Development to balance creative intent with production feasibility.

Innovation & Collaboration Projects

• Drive new material, trim, and construction innovations to elevate the SKIMS product experience.

• Manage technical execution for exclusive partnerships and capsule collections, meeting launch milestones.

• Integrate sustainable and emerging technologies into product development processes.

• Partner with vendors globally to ensure precise communication and accurate sample execution.

Process & Quality Excellence

• Maintain and evolve fit standards, pattern blocks, and grading systems for consistency across categories.

• Mentor and review work from junior technical designers, ensuring accuracy and brand alignment.

• Implement best practices for technical design workflows and documentation within PLM systems.

• Support ongoing initiatives to improve efficiency, quality control, and innovation adoption.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• 7+ years experience in technical design, with expertise in luxury or innovation-driven apparel categories.

• Deep understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit across multiple product types.

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, and Microsoft Office.

• Experience with 3D design software (CLO 3D or equivalent) highly preferred.

• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.

• Proven ability to manage high-profile collaborations or advanced innovation projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field.

• Passion for precision, craftsmanship, and pushing creative and technical limits.

$90,000 – $115,000 / year

(Dependent on experience and technical expertise.)
