We’re seeking a Technical Lead – Retail Systems to oversee our retail inventory and RFID ecosystem, ensuring seamless data flow, system stability, and operational excellence across all retail and warehouse operations.

Position Overview

The Technical Lead – Retail Systems will be responsible for the technical health and reliability of SKIMS’ retail inventory and RFID application stack, including Clarity IMS, NetSuite ERP, POS systems, and 3PL/WMS integrations.

This role requires a hands-on leader capable of managing integrations, resolving complex incidents, and driving continuous system improvement. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong problem-solving and leadership skills to maintain accuracy, scalability, and uptime across SKIMS’ retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

System Ownership & Reliability

• Serve as the technical owner for retail inventory and RFID applications, ensuring uptime, scalability, and data integrity.

• Maintain and optimize integrations between Clarity IMS, RFID, NetSuite ERP, POS, and 3PL/WMS platforms.

• Oversee end-to-end data flow for inventory tracking, transfers, and store transactions.

• Lead configuration, environment management, and release readiness for all retail systems.

• Implement proactive system monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to prevent sync failures or data disruptions.

Incident Management & L3 Support

• Act as the L3 escalation point for inventory and RFID system issues, coordinating cross-functional and vendor teams.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions to prevent future incidents.

• Manage production incidents impacting stores, RFID reads, or inventory reconciliation.

• Create detailed runbooks and incident documentation to ensure faster recovery and operational continuity.

Integration & Engineering Practices

• Maintain and enhance API and middleware integrations across the retail ecosystem.

• Partner with Engineering and DevOps to ensure data reliability and synchronization across systems.

• Define and enforce standards for error handling, logging, and monitoring across retail integrations.

• Automate manual reconciliation and data sync processes to reduce operational overhead.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Collaborate with Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to improve system performance and workflows.

• Partner with Product Managers and Business Analysts to design scalable, maintainable retail system solutions.

• Provide technical leadership in architectural planning and roadmap discussions.

• Mentor analysts and support engineers to build technical expertise and problem-solving capacity.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 7+ years of experience supporting or developing retail technology systems.

• Proven expertise with NetSuite ERP, Clarity IMS, and RFID technologies (SML, Zebra, or equivalent).

• Strong background in system integrations, API management, and data synchronization between retail platforms.

• Experience with middleware tools (Celigo, Boomi, or Mulesoft).

• Skilled in debugging, performance tuning, and system optimization.

• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management.

• Proven track record managing production incidents and system upgrades in live retail environments.

Compensation

$135,000 – $150,000 / year

(Dependent on experience and technical expertise.)
