The Role

Genies is seeking a Trust & Safety Lead to safeguard our rapidly expanding ecosystem of user-generated content and AI-powered avatars. In this role, you’ll develop policies, tools, and scalable frameworks that protect user identity, prevent misuse, and ensure that Genies remains a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for creators, consumers, and partners alike.

You’ll operate at the intersection of AI ethics, content moderation, and digital policy, leading efforts to detect risks such as impersonation, offensive content, or the misuse of likeness and training data—while helping define the new standard for digital identity integrity in the age of AI.

💰 Salary Range: $210,000–$260,000 USD

📍 Location: Los Angeles or San Francisco (hybrid)

What You’ll Do

• Lead and evolve the Trust & Safety strategy across all Genies products and platforms.

• Define and enforce community guidelines, moderation frameworks, and UGC policies.

• Partner with Engineering and Product to build scalable moderation and abuse-detection systems.

• Collaborate with IP and brand partners to integrate partner-specific safety requirements.

• Monitor user activity to proactively identify emerging risks and implement prevention strategies.

• Act as the escalation point for sensitive incidents, coordinating with Legal, Partnerships, and Exec teams.

• Recruit, train, and manage a global moderation team to uphold platform standards.

• Drive transparency and user education through clear policies and communication.

• Stay informed on industry regulations, safety standards, and AI content governance trends.

What You’ll Bring

• 5–7+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Policy, or Content Moderation within consumer or creator platforms.

• Proven ability to design and operationalize scalable safety systems.

• Expertise in UGC risk management, policy design, and incident response.

• Strong judgment and communication skills under pressure.

• Experience working cross-functionally with product, legal, and operations teams.

• Familiarity with AI-generated content risks and virtual economies.

• Passion for digital identity, online safety, and the creator economy.

• Bonus: experience leading distributed or global moderation teams.
