The Role

We’re seeking a hands-on, visionary VP of Engineering to lead Linktree’s product engineering organization through its next stage of scale. You’ll drive technical strategy, architecture, and execution across our global engineering teams — balancing innovation, velocity, and reliability.

You’ll report directly to the CEO, collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations, and play a key role in building a fast, AI-augmented engineering culture that defines the future of digital creation.

What You’ll Do

Technical Leadership & Strategy

• Define the long-term technical vision and architecture for Linktree’s core platform.

• Drive scalable, maintainable, and secure systems design.

• Evaluate and adopt AI-driven tools and workflows to amplify engineering productivity.

• Ensure data privacy and security are embedded into every layer of the stack.

Execution & Delivery

• Oversee product delivery, quality, and operational reliability.

• Set clear engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and uptime; use data to improve continuously.

• Balance innovation and execution — you’ll occasionally dive into code, reviews, or architecture to unblock teams.

• Lead post-mortems, major technical deep dives, and cross-functional reviews.

People Leadership & Culture

• Build, mentor, and scale a world-class team of engineering managers and senior ICs.

• Recruit exceptional talent and define the hiring strategy for a distributed, high-performance team.

• Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and learning.

• Champion psychological safety and creative autonomy while maintaining accountability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Design, and GTM to balance technical debt with feature velocity.

• Represent engineering at the executive level, communicating complex trade-offs clearly.

• Help define budget, resource allocation, and investment in new technology areas.

• Evangelize engineering excellence externally through thought leadership.

Who You Are

• 12+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years leading multi-layered orgs in high-growth environments.

• Deep experience in architecture, distributed systems, security, and infrastructure.

• Proven ability to ship large-scale products with reliability and measurable performance.

• Excellent communicator and mentor, able to bridge technical and business strategy.

• Familiar with AI/LLM integration, modern development tooling, and agile scaling.

• Experience in SaaS or consumer tech a plus.

Compensation

💰 $350,000–$420,000 USD base salary (San Francisco or Los Angeles)
